A grassroots peace movement like weve seen before. Just peace. Period. Peace.
"I would like to see every single soldier on every single side, just take off your helmet, unbuckle your kit, lay down your rifle, and set down at the side of some shady lane, and say, nope, I aint a gonna kill nobody. Plenty of rich folks wants to fight. Give them the guns."

(38 posts)Its a novel idea but when you have soldiers afraid not to fight because if they didnt theyd be shot in the back by their own officers, its nothing more then a nice thought. When we dropped leaflets in Iraq with directions to peacefully surrender we had to make one side look like their money because they would have been killed if they were caught with instructions to surrender on them. Peace is a grand idea, but only in a society where violence is illegal and socially unacceptable. You have to believe in the basic human rights first. That is unfortunately why there are peace keeping forces willing to stand up for peace around the world. unfortunately, peace is earned by selfless acts of people that put their interests behind those of self interest. That will always be the cause as long as tyranny is allowed to exist.
