Don't like high gas prices. Remember 2020 when everything

was closed airlines, cruise lines, restaraunts etc. The oil companies were actually paying to get rid of oil. If everyone would just cut back driving some, combine your trips, walk, take public transportation prices would go down. They are going to charge whatever the market will bare, no market lower prices.

Higher fuel prices makes transport and delivery of goods higher throughout the entire supply chain.

We have one day each week that we drive into town to pickup groceries and do all other errands. Wears me out some, but not wasting gas making multiple trips.

"economy car"-- a Dodge Dart that gave me 11mpg. Still better than the big Buick that gave me 8.

What have we learned?

I already do single-purpose trips only when necessary. Work. Pick up sick kid.

Otherwise, double-purpose trips are rare. Triple, not uncommon. My kid's usually annoyed during breaks from school. He wants to go to a bookstore. "Sure!" Bookstore. Pharmacy. Get food. Stop by P.O. Buy socks. Stop by ATM. He's thinking 60 minutes, I'm thinking, "That's this week's errands!"

As it is, I'm the rare fool who gets 10% *above* the "highway mileage" figure for my vehicle, while doing mixed highway/surface street trips. Taught to drive in the '70s. Brake? Only when compelled. Jack-rabbit starts? Idjicy. (1) Safety first. (2) Combine trips. (3) Don't waste kinetic energy, because that's wasting gas, and that's (a) wasting $ and (b) adding C to the air.

If the world wants to crush Putin then start moving towards electric. Let’s make this a priority since it will take at least a decade.
