When someone has nothing to lose, you can never tell what they might do.

(849 posts)I just feel he is unstable enough that if things go very badly for him, he may just decide to chuck it all and do something beyond crazy!

(17,536 posts)I think Putin told us to stuff our sanctions. Now, I guess the next thing that we will say, is "Well, you just dare to cross THIS line..."
We have a war on our hands whether we decide to participate or not. Putin quoted Davy Crockett when he said, "You all can go to Hell, I am going to Ukraine." Or something to that effect...Ukraine adds a hell of a lot of wealth to Russia to be split among Putin's circle of crooks. The only question is, "Who will be next."

Russians took to the streets by the tens of thousands when the Soviet Union collapsed. With the army in Ukraine, who is left in Moscow to defend him?

(849 posts)This time with the police and maybe a majority of the military.
Some remember the taste of freedom after the old Soviet Union collapsed. Things were much better for a while. Fast food chains, more toilet paper... Then things slowly started going badly again and I think they have had enough of Putin.
We'll see.
