Audio has captured the moment a Russian warship told Ukraine border guards defending an island in the Black Sea to surrender or be fired on.

They responded:“go screw yourself” before the Russians fired upon them.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has pledged to posthumously honour the group of border guards, whose final words were captured in audio, according to Pravda.ua.

The State Border Service reported that communication with the guards was lost when the island was captured by the enemy.

Our kids have spent plenty of time over the years with Ukrainian tennis juniors and their parents. They are the most wonderful people you would ever want to meet. And they are tough as nails, fair but brutally competitive and never, ever give up no matter the score.

Putin will never hold Ukraine under his thumb. Taking out known military sites is easy, trying to get these amazing people to accept his brand of government will be impossible.

Putin has led his country into economic hardship with zero chance of actually assimilating Ukraine.
