but I think the map is about 40 years ahead of the time indicated.
For example, England occupied the northern 1/3 of France in 1428, and the Emirate of Granada lasted until the year Columbus first sailed to the Americas.

under Bismarck. Even in the middle of that century, it was a political basket-case.
