"Two nauseating, fearful pigs who hate what America stands for"

White House spokesman calls Trump and Putin 'two nauseating, fearful pigs who hate what America stands for'

A top White House spokesman on Thursday called former President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin “two nauseating, fearful pigs who hate what America stands for” after Trump again praised Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking at a political fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., on Wednesday night, Trump reiterated his view that the Russian president’s incursion into the sovereign nation was a stroke of “genius.”

“I mean, he’s taking over a country for $2 worth of sanctions,” Trump said. “I’d say that’s pretty smart. He’s taking over a country — literally a vast, vast location, a great piece of land with a lot of people, and just walking right in.” The former president went on to insist that he knew Putin very well and that the crisis would not have happened if he were in office.

Andrew Bates, the White House deputy press secretary, responded with a scathing tweet.

“Two nauseating, fearful pigs who hate what America stands for and whose every action is driven by their their own weakness and insecurity, rubbing their snouts together and celebrating as innocent people lose their lives,” Bates tweeted.

Just read through this thread and look at the talking points!

Ol’ Vlad has figuratively handed us trump’s head on a platter.

There’s nothing like a good visual! NOTHING!!! You get that visual earwig crawling around in the back of your head and you’ll have a hard time getting rid of it. A vivid image really packs a punch. It’s memorable. And you reach the point where you can’t NOT picture it in your mind. And this you will come to associate trump with Putin and vice versa, and Putin is reaping TONS of international condemnation. Add the donald’s hero-worship of Putin and they both get sucked up into a veritable tornado full of negatives.

Negatives that destabilize. As the visuals compound on TV and cable, as the tanks roar by, as the protesters crowd the public square, as the Ukrainians are seen bedding down in subway tunnels, as the explosions and sirens and destruction dominate the news, that will affect public opinion. The donald will issue his statements, but nothing’s gonna match the LIVE action in the war zone.

AND the negative images attach to Putin - with his little dog donald - and they’re both HUGELY DAMAGED in the public relations department. And if the war goes badly and Ukraine hangs on (and becomes increasingly sympathetic in the world view), Vlad and the donald could actually go down.

Further proof that tfg has zero understanding of business, finance or economics.
The sanctions are massive for a country with 70% of gross exports as gas & oil, which represents nearly 30% of GDP.
A sanction that ties up a trillion dollars captures 25% of total capital & 12x annual capital flow.
It isn't $2 worth.
Even if sanctions tie up 10% of export dollars, it's 3% of GDP.
