What's the plan, anyone?

It's obvious Ukraine is going to fall . Many will die and Putin will put in a puppet President. The EU and US know/knew this would happen without military intervention. Reacting instead of acting.

Is the plan to let a sanctions be the penalty on multi billionaires? "Oh darn I've lost a billion from my 10 billion'.

Rant over.

"Its obvious" comments by anyone who's not a military or foreign affairs expert at this point aren't worth considering.

Last night Wilkerson said that Putin's invasion was ill thought out and doomed for failure. The only way for Russia to permanently take control of Ukraine is to remain there permanently, not a very realistic endeavor.

President Biden and our allies are doing as good a job as they can do.

Barring a coup in Moscow, or Putin choking to death on his caviar, it's almost a foregone conclusion.

The only thing the Ukraine military can realistically do is make it take longer and cause more pain for the Red Army.

If our military and political leaders are honest with us and themselves, this is what they want. They want the Russian military to become bogged down fighting a protracted insurgency in the Ukraine, which would effectively prevent them from moving on to other, potentially riskier campaigns like the Baltic states.

his plan was called, "Wait."

Wilkerson said that Russia can install a puppet but to maintain control of Ukraine that Russia will have to keep large scale forces there indefinitely. The insurgency in Ukraine is not going to stop if Putin names a puppet president of Ukraine.

To permanently control Ukraine, Putin is going to have to leave his army in Ukraine. All that Ukraine has to do is keep up its counter-terrorism and wait for Russia to leave, which it will have to do at some point.

it may very well install some puppet ruler, but that does not signify that Ukraine is defeated. The Ukranians will continue to fight against the puppet government. What good does it do Russia to install a puppet if his rules can't be enforced? To control Ukraine permanently Russia is going to have to keep its army in Ukraine. How long can Russia afford to do that?

Putin has made a terrible mistake.

This may be the end of him if we don't turn this into a "Russia United Against the World!" conflict.

He said that invading Ukraine was doomed to fail. Ukraine is a large country, Putin can install a puppet in Kyiv but unless he keeps his army in Ukraine who will enforce the puppets demands? The Ukraine army is not going to surrender, it will keep fighting all across the country. Did I mention that Ukraine is a large country? Who knows the scenarios? Zalensky could rule the country from Poland.

Russia can't keep its army in Ukraine forever.
