Great idea.

"Putin's actions are unlawful and anyone benefitting from Russia's aggression in Ukraine is not welcome here. I've strengthened our ban in the UK so that no Russian private jet can fly in UK airspace, or touchdown effective immediately," Shapps tweeted.

(51,563 posts)Last night a member of the Ukrainian parliament said that the NATO countries must declare the airspace off limits for Ukraine to give a fair chance to keep Russia from winning. Adam Kinzinger was just on CNN and he said the same thing. What are the NATO countries waiting for?

(4,426 posts)You asked What are the NATO countries waiting for ?
Well, NATO is a defensive alliance of MEMBER nations. We cant just go and shoot down other nations aircraft. That would be an act or war.
We can legally supply arms. We cant legally supply an air force including pilots. Ukraine has to do the heavy lifting here.

BUT, Russia has the ability to veto it so it won't happen.
