Correct their narrative by saying "Putin didn't invade Ukraine until Trump lost reelection and incited January 6th".
The "big lie" has done more to weaken American democracy and the world view of America than anything else in recent history. Biden and the Democrats had nothing to do with that, except to beat Trump in the election. The "big lie" falls right into the playbook of Putin, and don't think he didn't notice.
Then, after you've explained that, tell them to shut up and start supporting America and her current president who is trying to fix what Trump screwed up.
Thank you.

(3,639 posts)Ask opinionated people to name the countries bordering Ukraine.
It is not worth listening to anyone opining who lacks this basic knowledge .
However, be certain to know them all
Ukraine borders with seven countries: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, are NATO nations. Moldova, Belarus and Russia (obviously) are not.
The total length of the Ukrainian border is 6,992.98 km (4,345.24 mi).

Ukraine whenever he wanted once trump followed up on his promise to pull out of NATO. When trump lost and could no longer pull out of NATO, Putin probably realized he had blown his opportunity to take Ukraine during trump's time in the WH.
He probably started planning this invasion soon after trump lost. Massing troops and equipment from across Russia's 11 time zones took months of logistics prep.
It's also rumored that Putin is sick and doesnt have much time in his quest to re-form the Soviet Union or Russian Empire, whichever it is, so he had to attempt to take Ukraine now. He will regret it as the invasion has strengthened NATO and the Ukrainians are offering more resistance than Putin thought they'd be able to.
It would be nice if the west pours in more arms, anti-tank and anti-aircraft, into the country as we can't dispatch troops as Ukraine has not yet been able to join NATO, which Putin is definitely afraid of.

(3,222 posts)It warms my heart to see the protests in St. Petersburg. I just hope they can all stay safe. Those people are actually taking their lives in their hands to protest, unlike the pampered MAGAs that think they're fighting tyranny over masks.

(53,467 posts)and many seem to be siding with Putin...from watching/listening to too much winger media.
Until last night Tucker Carlson had been nearly wet-kissing and praising Putin for weeks. And of course so have trump and Pompeo.

Putin invaded Ukraine when he lost his "Trump" card...
