Originally I thought the US should stay out of Ukraine

because it wasn't a part of NATO and we didn't have a vital interest at stake.
I'm not sure I believe that anymore. I just can't believe this is happening. I don't want to see a docracy crushed by a war criminal.
Now I'm reading the Russians are bringing.in artillery that will be used to destroy Kiev and cause I told civilian death. Even if that doesn't happen a surrounded Kiev will soon begin to run out of food.
I'm beginning to think we should do more. Take more risks to come to Ukraine's aid.
I'm not sure what we should do but I don't think we are doing enough.

"What if Russia gets frustrated with their first wave pace, can't take Kiev, and just starts indiscriminately shelling or bombing it and other major cities? That is what a couple of analysts have said it looks like what they are setting up for."

The only solid answer was if Russia used tactical nukes.

...become an Armageddon scenario rather rapidly.

I would normally say that he isn't this stupid, but in the past few weeks he has been proving me wrong.

He really did grossly miscalculate this situation and he knows it. He did not expect the tremendous resolve from the rest of the world he is now experiencing. The blowback has been enormous.

He is fucked.

...We can not enter this with troops.

We are supplying weapons, logistics support, intel, humanitarian aid, as well as leading an unprecedented sanctions regime not only against Russia, but against Putin and his oligarchs personally. This will hurt them badly. This will also go on for years.

We have also led the fight to turn the world against this monster. Putin has already lost in the court of world opinion. It is Putin that is boxed in. He has lost decades of carefully planned propaganda advantage in two days. He is now more fucking radioactive than Chernobyl.

The real threat is that the caged rat is unstable, religiously fanatic, and in control of a nuclear arsenal.

Be supplying them with all the war material they need. Ammo, missiles, food, medical supplies, etc. If that is not happening right now, Biden should be ashamed.

Last night I heard some fairly reliable folks talking about how NATO should consider a NO FLY zone over western UKraine. I’m not there yet, but I’m close.

Our European allies are not without their own armaments and air forces. Direct engagement with Russian forces - IF that is the decided upon option - should come from them. Despite any defense agreements (NATO, etc.) this is much more their fight (and decision) than it is the U.S.'s We can back them up - but our position should remain as support (and perhaps tactical support).
