I know this sounds weird, but Russia has lost control over one of its geopolitical weapons:

The Tea Party was purportedly something-something about Obama's taxes or something like that. Well... actually the Tea Party was anti-government sentiment.

The Republican Party saw this anti-government sentiment and co-opted it and aimed it at the Obama-administration.

Except these anti-government Republicans weren't satisfied with focusing their anger exclusively on Obama. The GOP lost control over them and the Tea Party began attacking the GOP as well, entered the republican primaries and replaced longtime moderate Republicans with their own extremist members.

This is how the GOP became the fascist-loving party it is today and this is how the non-politician Trump won his primary.
Out-of-control anti-government sentiment.

WHERE IS THE CONNECTION TO RUSSIA?

Russia has for more than a decade cultivated an international movement of anti-imperialism, anti-war and anti-establishment through social media and international propaganda. But ALL of this anti-imperialism, anti-war and anti-establishment sentiment was framed with criticism of the US, essentially weaponizing it as anti-americanism.

Here is the problem:

Russia has now lost their mind-control over this international movement, this social weapon. All this world-wide anti-imperialism, anti-war and anti-establishment mindset that Russia has cultivated is no longer directing its wrath exclusively against the US.

All of a sudden, these millions and millions of people opposed to imperialism, opposed to war and opposed to tyranny take a close look at Russia and they don't like what they are seeing.........
https://securityaffairs.co/wordpress/128428/hacking/anonymous-russian-defense-ministry.html

Anonymous collective has hacked the Russian Defense Ministry and leaked the data of its employees in response to the Ukraine invasion.

(This employee-data will be especially interesting for western intelligence because e.g. the russian secret agents who assassinated Sergej Skripal in the UK were officers of the russian military.)

International russian propaganda used to portray Russia as the peace-loving, morally upstanding and diplomatic alternative to the evil, evil, evil, imperialist, warmongering, world-police US.

How is russian propaganda now supposed to weaponize the anti-imperialism, anti-war and anti-establishment movement, now that they have precisely done what they demonized for a decade?

Rightwing heads have got to be exploding. They’re confused now. Need to stand by them with simple words - “Putin bad. Christians good.”

Arrested and charged criminally. He doesn’t want them communicating and planning, and of course doesn’t want them to see the atrocities of his war

To stop Russian cybercriminals from using their services to communicate propaganda about their hostile foreign invasion. Any and all Putin supporters should be put in FB jail until the Russians retreat back to Russia.

Silence Russian Propaganda.
