Bill Barr launches blistering attack on Trump in new book

Former US attorney general Bill Barr has unleashed a volley of criticism at Donald Trump in his new book, saying the ex-president has “shown he has neither the temperament nor persuasive powers to provide the kind of positive leadership that is needed” and that the Republican party should move on from him.

In One Damn Thing After Another, Mr Barr writes that his former boss could have won the 2020 election if he had “just exercised a modicum of self-restraint, moderating even a little of his pettiness”, according to the Wall Street Journal.

He also rejects Mr Trump’s so-called “Big Lie” that he was cheated out of election victory by fraud.

According to the Journal, Mr Barr writes: “The election was not ‘stolen’. Trump lost it.”

Drumpf wingnut apologists have said it first long ago: If only Drumpf would shut up, stop tweeting, tone down - & he would be FINE. And here is William BARR reaping tons of cash for a book saying the same thing - “just exercised a modicum of self-restraint, moderating even a little of his pettiness.” And he says it in another way, that Drumpf’s AGENDA would be fine without the “erratic behavior.” Uh, his very AGENDA is ERRATIC.

He says Drumpf “lost his grip” – uh, what GRIP did he ever have to lose? Sort of like how BARR had no integrity to lose, and the in kind “pettiness” of tell-all bits are not courage. It would have been integrity and courage for BARR never to work for Drumpf in the first place, then not to be his sycophant, and certainly not to undermine institutional freedom. But then, the slimy servility and lack of courage/integrity are his nature.

As for the tell-all bits, how much more than what we have known from the get-go and heard about Drumpf do we need? His zombie followers won’t be swayed and the rest of us don’t need more, certainly not to buy it.
