You don't get the whole message but the speaker says, "economic sanctions on Russia and to do so now...today..."

Is this person under the impression we've not done economic sanctions on Russia?

This is why Biden's approval is not going to go up due to this conflict. There's a narrative out there he's doing nothing despite putting together a coalition of allies to bring about the hardest economic sanctions we've seen in generations.

From Salon: LUCIAN K. TRUSCOTT IV

Biden and Western nations must not allow movement of people, goods, services, money or anything else from Russia to the rest of the world. They must order the seizure of the assets of Russians in the West — all of their assets: apartments, condos, beachfront properties, office buildings, bank offices. Seize all their money and other paper investments. This must not only apply to "oligarchs." There are plenty of Russians who own property in New York, Miami, London, Paris, Monaco and elsewhere. Take what they own outside of Russia from them — not just the billionaires.

Bar imports of any goods from Russia. Bar all exports to Russia of any technology, right down to the hammer and the common nail. Include in the ban "luxury" goods such as European and American automobiles. Bar the export of televisions, laptops, cellphones, everything Russian citizens have gotten used to owning and using. Shut down Russian access to social media sites like YouTube and Instagram and Facebook and to streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu and Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. Turn Moscow and the rest of the country into a social media and entertainment wasteland

The damage it's going to inflict on the country is going to be devastating.

That's on top of the stuff the US is actually providing - including likely top secret intel.

I'm more worried that the GQP US Taliban Party of Putin won't pay ANY price in the upcoming mid-terms. Most of them are traitors yet BIDEN is seen as a traitor. It's bad enough that there's a poll floating around that says Americans (Albeit ONLY 2,000 polled) said that putin would not have invaded another country under tRump's watch. I mean damn, people can't see how corrupt tRump is and how corrupt the GQP is, because most of them support putin? Tom Cotton would not say one bad thing about putin this morning when interviewed by George Stephanopoulos. I normally don't watch Sunday pol shows but he would NOT say that putin was horrible for what he's done, even though asked many times. I wish Dems would start hanging this around the GQP's neck's, but they won't. We know how the mostly reich-winged, corporate media has the Biden is weak narrative, and that this thing with putun happened on Biden's watch not tRump's

The only positive I've seen is that now that they have NO chance to get at dirty russian like they have in the past to run their campaigns, how will they make up for that money to try to steal the upcoming mid-terms and GE in 2022? The mostly reich-winged, corporate media doesn't speak much about this, but the GQP gets tons of money from russia. We know tRump thought putin would help him out because he can't go to ANY bank anywhere to get money. Now that putin is an official PARIAH to most of the world his money will be tied up. Even before all of this, putin had NO use for fatso any longer.

lobbying Germany and Italy to agree to getting Russia's big banks cut off from SWIFT is not symbolic, it might be an act of war in times gone by, although it has been announced as a temporary move.

One small action at a time, like BP dumping its 19.75% stake in Rosneft might be seen as a small action by some, but in concert with other sim, ilar actions, it becomes huge.

The defiance of a Georgian marine refueling center is a small action, but that can also be multiplied by others.

Symbolic? Like hell, buddy, the world is starting to unite against Putin and NATO isn't holding a gun to any of their heads to do it.

Look how much ancillary equipment, training, etc we started even before the actual invasion. Get a grip, buddy!

And as earlier poster said cutting off SWIFT, other companies etc all filling buckets of effects on Putin & Russia.

I do feel sorry for the average Russians. Hopefully some military or oligarch will take Putin out so they don't have to suffer too long.
