The Russians are getting their tales beaten by the Ukrainians. What will be the long term

implications for Russia, Ukraine and the West? Will it embolden China to retake some of its disputed territories from Russia? Will Putin fall within 90 days? Thoughts?

Russia has a big, well equipped army, it is not all surrounding Ukraine at the moment. I hope that the Ukrainians beat him like the Finns beat the Soviets in the Winter war, and I am keeping my fingers crossed for them, but the odds are against Ukraine. The longer that the Ukrainians can hold out, the better even if they eventually succumb. That is why it is so important to keep sending them the tools that they need to fight. If they really bloody Putin's nose, even if he takes over the country, he will not win the peace.

Putin has succeeded in uniting the West for the first time in decades. Perhaps we should at least thank him for that. The only folks in the West still supporting him are the Republicans and even they will bail on him if he gets in a pickle.

Russian convoys with Turkish drones. Given the absolutely crappy Russian military -- sending units in piecemeal to be destroyed -- I think UKR has the edge.

I would be in the cheering section too. Russia has an standing army of 900,000 and a reserve of 2 mil. What Putin will do with them depends on just how much he wants Ukraine. The big problem with a man like Putin, is that he would rather destroy the world than to back down and lose face. Besides that, he would not personally survive a Ukrainian victory. It makes for some rough sailing.

Some hero needs to donate Putin a penis, give him something to keep him occupied. The world may end up being destroyed because the little fellow was called stubby in gym class.

What would happen when they made their move:
Badly misjudged Ukraine's willingness and ability to fight.
Badly misjudged Western reaction.
Strategy seem so poor that you really wonder what the military was thinking. I don't know anything but I think the idea is to begin with an air campaign to take out the opponents air force and fixed positions. Doesn't seem to have been much of an air effort. A lot of experts are saying the military attacks aren't properly supported.
Seems like they thought they could just waltz in.
The wisdom of Mike Tyson: Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.
Don't know if they have the forces for a plan B. Hope not.

Do they have the will and the ability to deploy and supply them? Until they get air superiority, if not air supremacy, I don't see how their heavy losses curtail.

have an awesome military on paper but a mediocre one in reality. I just hope that when the Christofascists regain control in the country, that they do not realize that and don't try to enslave the world in their "Christian" slavery. All we can do is continue to resist the election of christofascists and push for more and better Democrats.
