Belarus joining Russia in the war against Ukraine

As with all breaking news, there is need for confirmation. However, this woman has been posting some incredible up-to-the-minute news from Ukraine that has been accurate so far.

This is terrifying.

We need to get serious on sanctions if we're to divert another world war. History shows us what happens when we delay. It is well past time we start hitting Russia's top exports - Oil and gas.

Peace in our time is a shorthanded way to describe all the failings that lead to WWII. I wonder, what will the history books say about our failings in the leadup to WWIII? Gas for our cars?

They just had a so-called referendum in which supposedly more than 60% of voters approved giving up the nation's non-nuclear status.

Reuters said the results "sparked anti-war protests in several cities. At least 290 people were detained, rights activists said."

It will be interesting to see what happens next there. The referendum also gives lifetime immunity from prosecution to President Lukashenko once he leaves office.
