As we are preparing for the State of the Union, I see a silver lining in the left wing offering a

"response." Yes, our own.

We nominated and elected President Biden as a moderate. Many have commented that once he took office he shifted to the left to, supposedly, meet the demands of the left wing.

That they are unhappy with him will demonstrate, I hope, that he did not.

to the fact that so many Democrats are upset at how little he has managed to do to help people. People are suffering, they need more help. I know he's trying. Some want him to try harder. I hope he listens.

He’s done a lot of good stuff. And he will do more.

We have excellent Democrats in the House, and need to get a solid majority in the SEnate.

Media doesn’t report the good stuff or they spins it negatively with their bullshit “democrats in disarray” narratives.

And bad faith actors on the internet are >lying< when they say he hasn’t done anything. The ones I have in mind are grifters, their ‘opinions’ are whatever they need to be to cash in. I’ll note they rarely attact Republicans, who as you know block progress at every turn.

Of course YMMV

All the great ideas, as important as they are, can be achieved with a more comfortable margin. We don't have it.

This is what is nice about the infrastructure bill. I don't know whether it is already implemented. I remember after Obama passed his bill, driving on a freeway and seeing a sign: this work is part of this bill.

We need to use examples during the campaigns, yes, in Red states. You see the work on this bridge that had limited traffic because it had deteriorated? This is what the Democratic congress has done. Had we let the left wing stalled that bill we would have had nothing to show.

Liberal isn’t a dirty word except in the cesspool of the Twitterverse and the bowels of reddit.

AFAIK the response will be in support of Joe Biden’s agenda.

You write: “ That they are unhappy with him will demonstrate, I hope, that he did not. ” Not sure what that sentence means? Seems to be missing a word or two?

Shortly after he took office someone on these pages expressed the satisfaction that even though Biden was elected as a moderate, in contrast to Warren and Sanders, he has shifted to the left and this made that person quite happy.

On a separate issue, no, liberal is not a dirty word. I've always considered myself a liberal. And then sometimes in the 90? our party decided to ditch the word liberal and replaced it with "progressive."

OK, I will consider myself progressive, so I really resent the left wing appropriating the term.

I see a lot of twitter folks saying crazy stuff about how liberals are fascists.

So I’m sticking with the term left-liberal for myself these days.

He deserves it. He's not anyone's butler to be complained and whined about. He's President of the United States and an excellent leader. We're lucky to have him and we need to show pride in him.

I hope I don't have to say that each and every voter on the left owes Biden their full support and poll approval. Sure, represent constituencies, but remember to respect Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, Clyburn, Klobuchar, etc. When we show respect for our own leaders it cues others to respect them.
