And since there are military versions, they are likely actively jamming/attacking/crashing any they haven't launched.

electronic warfare units are frequently deployed along with ground troops. And we have airborne systems that can jam enemy command and control signals. It's likely that is a component of any modern army.

Is the russian army modern? Have they deployed modern units broadly? I don't know.

But I do know I could build a jammer for a few dollars that would be portable and effective against recreational drones. It would be very illegal here though. Not to say people aren't using them. People hate drones over their homes.

They see it as key to counter the West's reliance on higher tech weapon systems. They have been trying to deploy ewar capabilities down to the squad level. How far along they got and how effective it is is anyone's guess though.

The worst that can happen is the loss of a $200 drone. If it's effective, it's probably worth $200 for the annoyance and confusion of Russian troops.
