Can we talk about polls for a minute

Yes I read the same polls you did.. Bidens approval rate was 37% last week..

And not all the polls are internet polls.. some are direct line polls through the phone..

But here is truth... people are split into their own media areas. They listen to "news" through a political sieve..

While there are more Democrats than there are Republicans.. the right covers a LOT more territory. Our people are clustered in cities.. the right is out in rural areas.. and when polls are conducted trying to hit every area equally, the polls will always go against us, because the right is covering more territory.

Having said that.. in my suburb aka small town.. some houses were still flying the Trump flags.. one even had a brandon flag us.. now I live in Iowa.. But as of last Friday or Saturday.. no one.. nada.. not one of those houses has a trump flag up.. take that for what ever you want..

So I am going to be very interested in seeing what poll numbers are going to look like next week, even in the rural areas.. I am guessing we will see a jump in the poll numbers because many of the media outlets are pulling the identified russian influenced postings..

There will be no russian money to buy our politics anymore..

I try to remind myself that the only polls that matter are the ones that happen at the ballot box.

But knowing that Russian $$ will not be used to pay for misinformation makes a difference.

Biden is probably going to do a good job holding onto Democratic support. He's likely going to do a very bad job ever getting Republican support.

So, it comes down to the group that is not affiliated with either: independents. Biden won this group 54-41 in 2020, I believe, and they're going to solely be responsible for whether his approval is good or not.

Unfortunately, they are also the group most susceptible to perception.

Biden lost the support of independents around the time we withdrew from Afghanistan. He has been unable to get them back.

Hopefully his leadership during this conflict will do just that. If it does, that 37% will jump.

DU is hardly representative of the general public. Posters here represent the segment of the public that is especially invested in following news carefully, following pundits and activists on social media, etc.

Personally I know many lower information Biden voters in real life who are not shy about voicing their disappointment in this admin. While I can counter some of the complaints really easily, not every complaint is invalid.

The SOTU and subsequent outcome in Ukraine can go a long way toward shoring up loyalty in disgruntled voters and encouraging casual infrequent voters to actually show up in November in a non presidential election year. Don’t take it for granted though. I don’t think the polls are lying.
