Hungary will not allow lethal weapons for Ukraine to transit its territory.
According to Reuters, the relevant statement was made by Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
The reason for making this decision is that such deliveries might become targets of hostile military action and we have to ensure the security of Hungary that we are not getting involved in that war, Szijjarto said.
He also mentioned that Hungary would send neither troops nor weapons to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Government of Hungary transferred the first batch of humanitarian aid for Zakarpattia Region, consisting of 100 tonnes of fuel and 23 tonnes of food products.

This is not devastating, as there are other routes. It's nice they are transferring aid, at least.
Europe is complicated. Always has been. Getting them to work together is always a herculean task.

The U.S., through Radio Free Europe prodded Hungary to stand up to the Russians. When the USSR moved in on Budapest and the Hungarians had them at bay, the U.S. didn't come in to help them and Hungary became a satellite of the USSR.

It was disgraceful as the Hungarian people were begging for help. When the Russians came back in to take over, they treated the populace horribly.
