And do not want to live in a Russia that no longer exists.

I don't even assume they care anything about their country or the Russian people.

.

The couple of "suicides" last week might have been his way to clean-up loose ends and paper trails.

and back down if he is given a path to do so without looking like he made a mistake.
It is up to our leaders now to craft a way for him to do that, or work with him in order to get it accomplished.
But be ready for it, the Ukrainians are seriously outnumbered and outgunned. They are putting up a commendable fight, but there is only one outcome here if Putin doesn't back off voluntarily. It's only a matter of time unfortunately.

I thought this whole thing was brinksmanship designed to elicit concessions. I now think Putin is going all-in, and nothing short of a coup or NATO intervention will stop him in Ukraine.... at least until the occupation phase.

I agree that while the UKR defense has been remarkable, it's hard to imagine they can truly hold out. I think we'll know within the next few days. That 17-mile-long column north of Kyiv says that my friends in Kyiv are in for a horrible few days. I hope that we have done whatever we can to make sure they have hundreds of javelins on hand.
