This is poetry

Romney: President [Volodymyr] Zelensky is one of the most courageous people of our century. He is the face of good and Putin is the face of evil. Zelensky is on the streets in Ukraine, wearing battle fatigues, ready to fight for his country. And Putin is sitting behind this massive table in this huge white room; it looks like a mausoleum where honesty and honor went to die. Putin is becoming smaller and smaller on the world stage. He’s being diminished. I hope and pray Zelensky survives, but I know that there’s a substantial risk he doesn’t. This is one of the great heroes of my lifetime.

I’m convinced that ultimately good will succeed. I don’t see a scenario where Putin is able to put in a henchman to run Ukraine and everything goes swimmingly for him. I hope that the Ukrainians are able to fight him off.

The rest of the interview is good. I love President Obama and my party but I'm a little embarrassed by the way I belittled him on this very site.

He’s still a Republican. He still thinks 47% of us are beneath him. He hates what trump is doing to his party.

He will be belittled by DU again I’m sure.

through and though and no friend on ours. He can be counted on to do the decent thing on rare occasion, not often enough to really help.

It will be Trump or a Trump with an amiable veneer and that's frightening.

McKay Coppins who did the interview is an interesting guy. He wrote an article what it was like growing up and in college as a liberal and a Mormon.

Romney's policies and mindset are STILL horrendous.

You can admire a person's words and still maintain a negative position on what they stand for. He is a conservative, and as such, holds a hideous ideology that eventually leads to people like Trump and Putin being in charge.

In my humble opinion, conservatism is a bankrupt ideology. It postulates that certain people (Male, Wealthy and White primarily, but Christian thrown in) are better than others and deserve to be at the top of the pyramid, which is their idea of valid social structure. All others are beneath them and meant to serve their "betters". It is an outgrowth of the mentality that fueled Monarchism and Aristocracy minus the Kings and feudal nobility. They just exchanged those for "people who are wealthy".

Romney may not be as blindly hateful as other people in his party have become, but as long as he holds on to that philosophy, he will likely fall into the actions that facilitate sociopaths like Trump and Putin gaining power.
