So we knew what putin was going to do ahead of time. What's plan B?

So far, putin's continuing to execute his plan, adding more fire power. Not deterred by sanctions or anyone calling his actions war crimes.

Meanwhile, Ukrainians fighting for their lives at this very SECOND. People and children are dying. War crimes being committed.

So sadly guess the free world doesn't have a Plan B. Because if we do more we risk nuclear war? And if we did more before invasion -- that would have risked nuclear war too????? Can't prove it now of course, but in retrospect, this strategy sounds like it would have been really super smart. Need to dig up what one DUer talked about a lot

So bottom line Ukrainians sacrificial. Just too hard to watch this.

The main resources is support equipment, the UKR have done a surgical job at blowing up the support trucks etc

We DO NOT know what he is doing under the radar. Wouldn't surprise me if there is some secret communications going on with some people in Russian military staff to take matters into their own hands. Putin is a crazy blood thirsty bastard.WE just have to wait and see. ONE thing though, I WILL support ANYTHING Joe decides to do!

about whether or not we would chose to enter the conflict. Ruling out American forces on the ground or in the air made Putin's decisions a lot easier.

What if Biden used tonight's SOTU to warn Putin the US might no longer sit idly by as he commits war crimes?

special ops are on the scene. Joe Biden has done a great job of uniting Nato and Europe against Putin. But there are limits to what he can do...unlike Putin who is a mass-murdering dictator and a monster like Hitler and Stalin.

That can be used as congressional authorization.

I give Biden a A++++ for his leadership uniting NATO/Eurpose and playing a weak hand well. Just think if Biden had strung along the idea that the US might get involved, even if he had no intention of committing American troops, it might have strengthened his hand a little more.

The Russian economy is collapsed. Citizens are protesting across Russia. Putin's Oligarchs are showing signs of spintering. They are under-supplied, ill-motivated, untrained, and facing stiff resistance. They are under, minimally nuisance cyber attacks. NATO is upping the military presence in bordering member nations. Ukraine is being supplied with arms.

This is the first week.

My thinking is that Putin will only stop when something/someone bigger than Putin makes him stop. If he is successful in using the threat of nuclear war, you can bet that he won’t be the last lunatic to use that.

Fiona Hill’s words were profound to me. She said we are already in WWIII.

Those poor people. The Ukrainians are so proud, so brave and I want us to help them. I also feel some sadness over the young Russian soldiers who obviously aren’t clued in as to what the plan is, and the Russian people, who will suffer.

Putin is still just one man. One living, breathing, mortal man. And like Trump, I have never understood how one man can dictate so much suffering without being stopped by whatever means necessary.

eye opening and so refreshing to read what a true expert has to say. She stresses the need for an all out effort of worldwide businesses to pledge that they won't do business with Russia anymore. Along with how difficult this is to achieve.

And not sure if she was being facetious but she talked about how Putin, because of covid and having plenty of time, has gone into the archives and read the history and is totally convinced that Ukraine is a non-nation and belongs back into the Russian fold. This may come by him grabbing parts vs the whole Ukraine.
