(17 posts)Colonel that stated the Geneva Conventions did not apply to al-Qaeda POW's and detainees? I think so and I don't trust someone who thinks TORTURE is okay by not following the Geneva Conventions.

Him trying to make himself out to be a republican and act as if he is outraged about their racist assholery doesn't really add credibility to his statements, it takes it away.

Well, the facts indicate he isn't. If he wants to be Colin Powell's former Aide and such and such a guy and republicans are racist douche nozzles - go for it.

(4,507 posts)I mean, if somehow, by the grace of the almighty, I was a Republican pre-Bush II (I wasn't, but let's just say hypothetically that I was), if I were a social liberal, non-racist, anti-voter suppression, pro-environment, anti-interventionist, fiscal conservative, pro-middle class and pro-fair taxation Republican - and I think you could conceivably be all these things and a Republican back in the day - I can't imagine what I would think.
I suspect I'd be beside myself and wonder who the hell were all these assholes ruining my party.
I'm just guessing.

(1,451 posts)Whenever you hear republicans playing race card which they have no authority to do, since it is mostly an all white male dominated party. Dubya/Shooter took America on a thrill ride they will never forget. Dubya said that History will define his Presidency. And he is right. He and the neocons will be responsible for destroying the trust and faith of the republican party. The people who are voting for Romney/Ryan are the last die hards of a fading institution. The republican brand will be forever tainted with all the Bushies and like minded folk who have marginalized their own party. Hint. When you find someone who is willing to back a lie even when they know you can see the truth, it means they are avid liars and are comfortable with going down on that lie. Lies always must be covered with more lies or silence. Like the way Romney won't give interviews right now after his public endorsement of Murdock. Or hiding Ryan in deep south country. we are not fooled. So Members of the Democratic Party, we don't have to get mad. Let's just get even or better than even at the Ballot Box. We are out register republicans by about 2 to 1 in some states and 3 to 1 in others. And you have a lot of Republicans crossing party lines. Now its time to work. We have been in tough fights before and I admit there are times when we get a bloody nose or black eye. But this is a fight!!!!We have skin in the game. But having bumps and bruises doesn't mean you lost. It just means you are in it to win it no matter what the pain. And I myself have no intention of losing. Vote Early, and Take someone to the polls on Election day. And if you are really serious you will take a person every day untill election day. Let's Go To Work!!!Yes We Can!!!
