Ukrainians have the right to control their own border. He also said the airspace over Ukraine is theirs to control. So, if an ally wants to fly over Poland into Ukraine, he doesn't see a problem... except for shooting down Russian planes. He wants a no fly zone. He also wants Putin declared an international terrorist or perpetrator of crimes against humanity, I forget the designation, because that would expand options against him. He thinks how we handle Putin will likewise send a message to the Chinese as to what to expect should they embark upon a Putinesque course.

Both Poland and the other countries have said they will not be sending jets to Ukraine.

Poland won’t send fighter jets to Ukraine, the country said Tuesday — the latest in a series of similar denials from EU countries that have highlighted early confusion about what the bloc’s new military support for Kyiv will actually encompass.

In addition to Poland, the Bulgarian and Slovakian governments have also recently ruled out the delivery of military aircraft to Ukraine. Yet at the same time, a Ukrainian official was claiming as recently as Monday that Ukrainian pilots had left the country to pick up planes donated by EU countries.

Poland will not send fighter jets into Ukraine, Polish President Andrzej Duda said Tuesday, adding that Poland is “not joining” the ongoing conflict as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine.

“We are not sending any jets to Ukraine because that would open military inference in the Ukrainian conflict. We are not joining that conflict. NATO is not party to that conflict,” Duda said.
