(14,180 posts)Im fed up with that shit. We all knew this was coming.
This is what we get for waiting. If this plant blows, that is a nuclear attack, and should be answered accordingly. They may be firing indiscriminately, but their target is absolutely clear.
Stop. Putin. Now.

(4,298 posts)Are we all just going to sit back allow Putin to use the nuke scare tactic when he's just about already used it? If he is targeting Ukraine nuke plants all bets should be off.

(15,325 posts)Mayor Dmytro Orlov had earlier reported fierce fighting between Ukrainians and Russian troops near the plant in southeastern Ukraine.
As a result of continuous enemy shelling of buildings and units of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is on fire, Orlov said on his Telegram channel, citing what he called a threat to world security. He did not give details.
Earlier, Ukrainian authorities reported Russian troops were stepping up efforts to seize the plant and had entered the town with tanks

(51,308 posts)Funny, a friend of mine and I said today, that hey, being in our 60s we should just look at it that we got 50 years of grace.
We all thought wed be vaporized before we were 12. Smh.

(63,221 posts)But I kind of agree. We have been on the clock for a while and haven't realized how close we have come to nuclear annihilation.
The fact that we have had these means for so long and haven't used them yet is a bit of a miracle, given human nature being what it is.

(59,522 posts)I am finding it weird that his initial onslaught has been so screwed up.
Could this all be a feint? He's miring his tanks and screwing up, now he bombs a nuclear power plant forcing other nations into the fight, and then he unleashes the manpower and equipment he has been holding in reserve?
To what end, I couldn't tell you. But I so don't trust this guy.

There's a bug on the right side that shows current power level and radiological situation.
Update at this time: radiation level 0.09 micro sieverts/hr, a slight drop from an hour ago.

(15,325 posts)No military force will dare fire near the Nuke Plant to stop them.
Putin sent his ppl there knowing they would die like kamakazis.
Wtf is plan B? Really?

(18,613 posts)Are the reactors THEMSELVES on fire OR is it the support buildings?
Big difference.
The US has the ability to monitor radiation levels through spy satellites so I'm 100% confident Biden & Co are on top of this.
AngryOldDem
(14,180 posts)There is a fire at the plant, the fear is it could blow.
WarGamer
(18,613 posts)What kind of reactors? Cooling method? Cooling still operational?
What's on fire? Support buildings? The buildings that house the reactors themselves??
Like I said... I trust that President Biden is on top of this 100% rfn.
