(14,786 posts)Im not a fan of turner..
But turner's firm is called Amare Public relations
The Russians in the tweet were working with Mercury public relations
And as far as i can find from google, there is no connection between the two.
What am i missing?

(71,523 posts)He lost money by leaving I think. I have also thought there was a little bit of guilt that maybe his show was used to help destroy Hillary...that is just my opinion. I am not saying Tom realized this at the time...only later when Trump was foisted upon us.

(14,786 posts)I dont know how i missed that on the first read. Its not exactly the same as "working for" russians, but still an odoriferous connection.
I wish i could find something to document this other than a post by mercury PR.
betsuni
(28,898 posts)A Daily Beast article from last year says the direct link between Amare and Mercury disappeared when the company's name was replaced with Highstake 11 77C, but that's a Mercury company, and that Turner's links with Mercury haven't been widely reported besides Mercury PR.

No wonder Turner would want to keep it as quiet as possible, after demonizing lobbyists all the time.

(71,523 posts)breathlessly that Shontel needed to drop out...well I had seen Nina Turner's anti-Democratic van and was determined to fight on...we copied the pics and passed them out in various areas in the district. We posted the pics online to Facebook neighborhood sites. We got our vote out. And posted messages from the Turner campaign showing her attacks on the Democratic Party. The best one was where she said she was running as a Democrat because she couldn't get on the ballot as a member of her new Party, the People's Party. This is a Democratic stronghold and Democrats here are not third-party types...some of the most loyal Democratic voters I have ever come across.

(93,747 posts)...there's no evidence in this post that Turner did anything wrong, or 'works for Russians.'
No one's 'stance' is going to be changed by this falderal. I'm sure there are myriad other reasons to reject Turner which aren't salacious, clickbait smears.
Btw, how do you decide who Turner's 'supporters' are? Just curious. Hope it's more credible than this hit thread.

(59,884 posts)They came right out and said so. It was an open primary, and people expressed their preferences openly, same as with any open primary. No one seemed ashamed of their preference at the time.

Many of us remember Nina saying voting for Biden is like:

Turner Owns those words and deeds and should be held accountable. I think the Voters in District 11 Ohio did just that..

(28,898 posts)I think that originated from articles about the CBC backing Brown over Turner, but the fact that Brown is also a woman of color was somehow lost in translation. Or erased by the usual insults of centrist, establishment, corporate, etc. That was weird.

(93,747 posts)Josh Gottheimer owns up to $30,000 worth of American depository receipts in Lukoil, the Russian fossil fuels giant, according to his most recent annual financial disclosure. He most recently purchased up to $15,000 worth of American depository receipts in Lukoil on February 4, 2021, according to a federal filing.
Lukoil has endured targeted US sanctions since 2014. Given the war in Ukraine, it could face more from the United States or European nations. CNBC on Monday reported that Lukoil's president, Vagit Alekperov, is sailing his yacht from Spain to Montenegro as the United States and its allies mull sanctions on the property of Russian oligarchs with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Gottheimer also owns up to $15,000 worth of stock in Yandex, a Russian internet services company, earning up to $2,500 in capital gains from the asset in 2020, federal filings indicate.

(20,964 posts)according to your link. Portfolio investments are not "cash".
That said, congressional members and their immediate households should divest all interests in Russian companies.
