Anyone seen a list of American companies still doing business in Russia?

The other day on tv it was mentioned McDonalds and Burger King were still doing business there.

But I would bet that the McD and BK outlets in Russia are locally owned franchises. I sure wouldn‘t want to be stuck with a remote branch in a place where restocking had to be paid for in dollars or euros, and revenue taken in was in worthless rubles.

Russians are practically cut off from sending money out, so they can‘t import much, and with the new bank cutoffs, they don‘t have many ways to get money in.

I‘m sure Putin is busy scrambling to set up bypass commerce for Russian entities in places like Gibraltar and the Cayman Islands, but I‘ll bet it‘s cumbersome and time-consuming, and time is not on his side right now. I‘ll bet there is some serious grumbling in the ranks in a few quarters in the Kremlin these days. Putin may not be fearing the Ides of March, since that’s in nine days, but his Ukrainian miscalculation may still cause him to ponder a quiet retirement in Sochi if the alternative is looking like a very insincere state funeral in his honor.

Maybe if Putin makes up his own brand and manufactures it on the Crimean peninsula, he can call it Pensacola?
