In a book set to drop in the thick of Russias devastating invasion of Ukraine, William Barr writes that demonizing [Vladimir] Putin is not a foreign policy, nor the way grown-ups should think.
In a copy of the forthcoming book by Trumps ex-attorney general, One Damn Thing After Another, viewed by The Daily Beast, the hatchet man writes that an imminent conflict with China means America should try to find a more constructive relationship with Russia. But: Unfortunately, with the media ready to pounce on President Trump as a Russian stoogeif not a Manchurian candidateat the slightest sign of détente, the Presidents hands were severely tied, particularly during an election year.
This is not the way grown-ups should think, Barr continues, before inveighing on a dynamic that has changed rapidly in the time between drafting and the book hitting the shelves.

I've written here that something in his aura really triggered me. I've said I wanted to slap him.
But I should have kicked him in the nuts.

(8,792 posts)the interview was Barr's arrogant apologia...according Barr, Trump "has neither the temperament nor persuasive powers of a leader" but the Dems and the media are responsible for the Russian/Ukraine catastrophe because blah blah blah Trump/detente..Barr's abbreviated interpretive rendition of the Mueller Report was justified given his client's obvious innocence...investigating Trump's enemies and dispensing punishment is what an a attorney general does at the the behest of his client...the jowly smug prick's rehab and revisionism tour is fetid tripe, a joke, and does him no good...

(60,320 posts)We could see before that any tRump moves to a "detente" were fake and that Putin was and is an authoritarian thug in the Soviet KGB style.

(4,298 posts)He knows damn well Russia helped Trump win in 2016 and that there was " collusion" Trump's campaign and Russia. To not portray Putin as the demon he actually is is the same as to not portray Trump as the lying POS that he actually is.

(12,445 posts)Barr better suck it up because Putin has demonized himself now and the idea of detente with a brutal thug is laughable in our current situation. There is no middle ground in this or any appeasement that won't lead to the same place: unspeakable violence on a whim and/or an ahistorical reading of the world.
Putin has revealed himself. As for the Squatter-in-Chief, he too has exposed his gross ignorance in recent comments to his Florida fanboys. Reported recently, he'd bomb the shit out of Russia and blame it on China, then lean back and watch them destroy one another.
That's what is called 'policy' in TrumpWorld. Just another insane spew from the Mar-a-Lago man child.

(8,792 posts)watching that fleshy corpulent morally corrupt blob in all his sanctimonious glory was morbidly fascinating...Trump is incompetent/unfit to lead, but he'd vote for him again..Trump is an enraged animal but Democrats are a national threat...I bet the 1/6 committee "sit down" with Barr, that preening self-serving liar, was a hoot..
