You can't have tanks in action unless you control the air and have expert infantry with them. These days if you control the air, there won't be any tanks for your guys to shoot at, the aircraft will have killed them all. Any couple of guys with a Javelin or other anti-armor rockets spot your tank, it's toast. If your infantry takes care of those guys, there is nothing for your tank to do. Sure, they can attack bunkers and stuff, but we have plenty of other shit to take care of anything like that now. A tank is just a multimillion-dollar pressure cooker.

take out heavy tanks at short range. The Javelin missile is much longer range.

But our Javelin system is dual purpose anti-tank and anti-helicopter (although not a true anti-aircraft MANPAD like the Stinger). I’d imagine the NLAW is also capable of doing the same thing.

As the guy says in the video, “Welcome to Hell!”

makes your sky a no fly zone. This conflict is revealing how warfare has finally devolved into ICBMs, cruise and other missiles versus small arms/hand to hand. Everything in between is too vulnerable for reuse and too expensive to replace.

Supposedly the US sent some Javelins to Ukraine too. It's satisfying to think Russian tanks are being taken out by stuff made in Alabama. The cold war got hot

Next Generation Light Anti Armour Weapon

The NLAW is a joint British and Swedish short-range fire-and-forget anti-tank missile system. Designed for use by infantry, the NLAW is shoulder fired and disposable, firing once before being disposed of. Use caution when operating this weapon as it has a large backblast.
