The next time you hear someone say "I'm moving and can't take my pet with me", show them these photos of Ukrainians fleeing with their pets.

5. Most of these photos are hard to look at.

That video seeing the father dying and the dead dogs was particularly hard.

And you can see the stress in most of the animals faces.

That dog on the top though looks like it thinks its going on a holiday.

Some animals are a bit "special."

This is a comment on people who are moving (in a non-worn torn area) that say they can't take their pets for whatever BS reason, these people found a way to take their pets with them.
The majority of those people (in the U.S., not Ukraine) who leave their pets behind do so because they won't, not because they can't

in every disaster there are many people who won't leave without their pets, so much so that the policy in America regarding pets during evacuation has been officially changed - essentially, pets are to be seen as members of the family, not possessions

I will die to protect him because not only is he my family,he's my best freind. If he was left alone I would feel so bad for him I would lose my mind.

What happened in that video was heartwrenching. That son losing his dad and 2 dogs must have been unbearable for him..


I hope puketin pays for this and all the other innocents he hurt in Ukraine . Lose his country to Democracy and lose his miserable life. Fuck you putin,fuck you for all eternity.

Hurricane Katrina in Bay St. Louis, MS, because shelters didn't accept pets plus no money to travel far. I've been crying a day for all the families.

9. Yep, A friend's son and his wife and family

are in the process of getting to Lviv from originally Kyiv and then they got to Bucha, the fighting became fierce and now are on the road again. They have a 10 month old cat with them that seems to be handling the disruptions with calm. She has been calming them through this whole ordeal.

We have three now. They're coming with us.

We evacuated a year ago from a VERY serious winter and ice storm. Took our then-two kitties with us to a hotel. While we were checking in, there were two other families, with their cats in carriers, who were checking in, too.

It was VERY nice to see these brand-name hotels taking in people and their pets.
