Again, UKR has a 50/50 chance of winning this conventionally and no doubt has won the PR and economic war.

IME even well supplied troops in combat will look for opportunities to have more equipment. I have, more than a few times, seen troops use "acquired" equipment.

(7,308 posts)Make no mistake, the Russian logistics operation is not doing well.
That does not mean they will not achieve a military victory from a sheer numbers advantage, but Russia is not doing well here.

(18,656 posts)Of Russian tanks and troops returning to garrison about two weeks ago? A video of trucks on a train merely confirms trucks can be moved by rail. A video of Russian troops unloading trucks from a train at an identifiable location in Ukraine tells me much more.
I wonder what would be the point of bringing in more trucks if fuel is a major problem? It would only result in increasing the supply shortage.
It is not surprising Russia is having logistics issues. Despite centuries of lessons, armies constantly underestimate the rate they will consume supplies. The Russian SOP of centralizing decision making would exacerbate the problem.

(7,308 posts)I am inclined to believe it. A lot of the problem are probably maintenance related, rather than direct combat losses. But there is certainly verified video of civilian trucks marked with the infamous "Z"
I respect skepticism, however. Ukraine is is most definitely engaging is a successful IW campaign and skepticism is warranted.
