I was wondering how the Soviets settled southeastern Ukraine and southwest Russia after WWII.
I'm pretty sure that whole farm country area was largely depopulated during the war. Who did they get to move there and start farming? I suppose it was some that left there and left other land to work in their war industry while the war was going on.
