Really soured on most domestic (US) news sources like CNN and MSNBC (still watch a couple of programs until I get tired of commercials).
My main sources these days:
DU
France24
DW
SkyNews (no longer owned by NewsCorp)
BBC World News sometimes but they don't stream live for free...
Al Jazeera (a bit of a grain of salt about this one)
I have a free three month youtube.com (not youtube tv) and watch most of these by live stream through my Fire TV Cube device...works well...minimal or no commercials and much better, not so opinionated reporting from these services...

(38,958 posts)I long ago soured on domestic news sources. DU runs hot and cold for my tastes. There is some awfully good stuff and a lot of chaff to separate from the wheat.

(32,596 posts)... and when I do get on, they paywall me almost immediately.
I used to go to Deutsche Welle and I might try it again. Most of these others are new to me, except DU of course.
Thanks for the suggestions.

(2,881 posts)I am getting it currently through Sling TV Blue package with the news add on ($6 more)...PBS in my area does show a one hour version of BBC World News once or twice a day (I can get this with my OTA antenna). Also, on youtube.com you can get BBC World News major stories usually these are updated daily but generally only run for a limited number of minutes (just the particular story update)...
edit: I think the streaming service Philo carries BBC World News live stream. This is the cheapest service I know that carries it ($25 + tax monthly)....

At each site there are options to view various features and I don't agree with or approve
of everything I read or see on any of the sites.

(32,596 posts)I think I can get BBC through my ISP which is Verizon because it provides both cable and internet. (I'm looking into this.)
The Guardian is posted frequently on DU for different things and I've found them to be be quite "naggy."

(2,881 posts)As far as I can find information, SkyNews UK (the one I watch) is now owned by Comcast and must follow UK requirements for unbiased reporting...However, apparently SkyNews AU is still owned by Murdoch and NewsCorp in some form and is still very right wing and wacky...SkyNews UK (when I have watched) seems fairly middle of the road to me anyway....

(85 posts)from US news sources. Read Al Jazeera, The Independent, Associated Press, Reuters and Daily Mail. Tired of CNN and their garbage, and sick of hearing about the war on MSN 24/7. Really kind of miss, Rachel and her storytelling, though.

(11,825 posts)SkyNews was no longer owned by NewsCorp. Good to know. And DW is the only one I will allow to send me breaking news alerts.
