Inflation needs to be cooled down.
Modest rate increases by The Fed will help.

(38,941 posts)3. Inflation hit us in the 70s. Nixon tried wage and price controls, it caused shortages of
everything. Ford had his WIN button another failure. It continued under Carter what finally broke it was the
Fed raising interest rates and causing what I think was the worst recession in my life. I was laid off for 3 1/2 years,
my employer went bankrupt, cut our pay, eliminated half our jobs , took our pensions and healthcare away. That's what breaks inflation a steep painful recession.
