Majority of GOP senators vote against helping Ukraine

By Josh Israel -March 11, 2022 10:46 AM

The bill passed the $1.5 trillion package on a 68-31 vote.

The Democratic-controlled Senate passed a bipartisan bill on Thursday night to fund the government for the next year and to provide billions in emergency aid to Ukraine. But more than three-fifths of the chamber's Republican members voted no.

The $1.5 trillion appropriations package came just in the nick of time; the federal government's current stopgap funding bill was set to expire at midnight on Friday. It consolidated a dozen Fiscal 2022 appropriations bills into one omnibus package, plus included $13.6 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine and NATO allies who face a similar threat from Vladimir Putin's Russian regime.

It passed 68 to 31, with all 50 Democrats and 18 Republicans voting in favor.

You both voted to give a 1.5 trillion tax cut to those that don't need it and one of you ripped off Medicare for the tune of well over 300 million dollars and then you have the audacity to say that this bill will bankrupt the country.....do you think the people that voted for democratic government in Ukraine don't need our help.....oh yeah your guy tried blackmailed him and you basically were all for it, your impeachment vote says everything about you....

Let's just say that the bill was going to pass. Both sides wanted it. Maybe even everyone, or at least a healthy majority of republicans. Maybe not, but let's work on the assumption that they wanted it passed. Well, the 18 R votes got i passed. But the remaining Rs could still vote no and maintain their credentials as fascists among their cult followers. Win Win. They're immune from criticism from the left because they don't give a fuck about the fascist labeling.

Hate democracy. They want to rule not govern.
They want to erase the laws so they can abuse and act out thier hatreds on people they don't like without consequences.

They need to be exiled from all positions of power and preferably be executed for thier crimes against America. Or at minimum jailed for life no parole and cut off from the outside world.
No calls or net. Mail that is checked for any money or other contraband ( they do that in prison)

That would be justice.

These fascists and the wealthy and the not so wealthy criminals supporting them are unfit to govern anything. They need all thier contacts ,money sources and crimes exposed and stopped.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway
Whatever it is, I'm against it
No matter what it is or who commenced it
I'm against it

Your proposition may be good
But let's have one thing understood:
Whatever it is, I'm against it
And even when you've changed it or condensed it
I'm against it

I'm opposed to it
On general principles, I'm opposed to it

This would seem the most obvious. Except that 18 hadn’t? I doubt that but maybe they aren’t in as deep as the rest. Or more likely they see the majority in their districts overwhelmingly support Ukraine. I hope the truth comes out by next election

these Republicans want to push support for the war criminal Putin back in his favor. They will oppose everything, and I mean everything Biden does, especially if it may help him politically like if this whole war falls apart and Putin declares victory and goes home. That's the last thing these fuckin' Republicans want. The interests of America and whole economy be damned!
