school closes for day after assistant principal takes own life on campus

PLACENTIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Students and staff at a Placentia middle school were sent home early Monday after an assistant principal apparently took his own life on campus.

Kraemer Middle School announced that Assistant Principal Moises Plascencia apparently killed himself in a private staff area, and no one else was present at the time.

School operations were suspended for the rest of the day, but are expected to resume Tuesday on the regular schedule.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is making mental-health professionals available on campus to provide support for students, staff and families.

My thoughts are with his family and his school family. In my area it’s hard to find mental health professionals. I wish the govt would pay for their training in return for service for a specific number of years.
