My family is as close as it is geographically far away. The one who weren't here chimed in from New York, Florida, Virginia and Königstein. We're all heading out in three weeks for our 40th anniversary celebration--twelve time zones away from here! The other side of the world. It's the only place we could find where we could all make it. Go figure!

I am absolutely floored at all of you bothering to post here--quite an honor, so thanks to each and every one!!!
I will try to get to all posts over the weekend. My birthday (boithday in Brooklyn, berdday in Republicanese) is actually on Saturday. About half the EU will be coming by tomorrow, and we are having some freshly grilled Greek food from the best Greek place in town brought in for everyone. Just in case there were any lingering doubts about the general sentiment being expressed, my wife had this made by a local pastry shop:

I appreciate all the encouraging comments. While I can now claim with reasonable authority gained from (extremely) recent experience that 70 is NOT the new 30, I sill have to admit that I don't feel a day over 71.
