The 1/6 Committee Is Planning To Write A Jaw Dropping Report

https://www.politicususa.com/2022/03/19/the-1-6-committee-is-planning-to-write-a-jaw-dropping-report.html

"SNIP......

The 1/6 Committee isn’t planning on a dry report written by staffers. They want to issue a gripping report that tells the story of the Capitol attack.

The Washington Post reported:

It’s unclear whether the committee will succeed in bringing on a high-profile journalist or if the committee has finalized a choice to author the report. But the committee’s leaders are keenly aware of the difficulty in breaking through to hard-to-reach audiences, according to staffers and members involved in the process.

“We do not want a bureaucrat to write this report but rather a historian or a journalist — or someone who writes and can tell a story in a compelling way so that people can actually understand what happened,” said Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), a member of the committee.

Two people with knowledge of the report say the committee wants it to include gripping testimony and quotes, along with starring roles for key players in the events leading up to and on Jan. 6, 2021.

The Committee isn’t going to release some boring report full of jargon and terminology written by staffers who in most cases aren’t writers. The 1/6 Committee understands that the best way to make the very complicated plot surrounding Trump’s effort to overturn an election understandable is to present it as a story.

a good journalist, preferably one without obvious partisan leanings that can be attacked, should do the actual writing.

“About fifty years ago, I wrote this: ‘Richard Nixon does not, as far as I know, fuck pigs or sell used cars with cracked blocks. Nor is he corrupt beyond the ability of modern man to describe it.’

“I can’t write that about Donald Trump. Trump is so unabashedly, publicly corrupt being accused of being a pigfucker would be the nicest thing anyone ever said about him.

“The true biography of Donald Trump will never be written. It can’t be. The only two men in history capable of writing such a work are Jonathan Swift and Charles Dickens, and they’re both dead.”

gives me a little more hope than the Mueller Report. PoliticsUSA gets pretty tendentious so I usually don't take them seriously unless they cite another source.

Are they still going to do that? That would raise public interest.

And with half the country now trained to believe that journalists are pathological liars, having a journalist write the report would be a disaster and be immediately labeled "fake news".

....The 1/6 Committee recommends indictment for former President Donald J Trump?

What happens if the Committee only recommends an investigation by the DOJ?

Is it politically feasible for the DOJ to just ignore their request?
