Truckers in the DC convoy that is protesting masks and vaccines are now getting very sick with something that sounds like COVID.

Zachary Petrizzo of The Daily Beast tweeted:

Today out in Hagerstown, more and more truckers with The People's Convoy have complained about becoming sick with a bad cough. One streamer, "OTR Survival," evened up going to an urgent care, and described the illness as getting "hit by a bus."

I am not saying that these truckers have COVID, but do you know what happens when a lot of unvaccinated people get together in close quarters?

The odds that they get and spread COVID go up dramatically.

The leader of the trucker convoy looks really smart by making the decision to go home and take a break.

I am not a doctor. I don’t play one on TV, but we are still in the midst of a pandemic, and the people who are getting sick are bragging about not being vaccinated.

One does not have to have a medical degree to guess that some of these folks might have COVID.

The truckers have been defeated by rain and traffic jams, so it is not shocking that some mystery illness that can’t be called COVID for certain would be wiping them out.

The truckers drove laps around DC, and all they got for their trouble was possible cases of COVID.

I live off of 270, and Hagerstown is North of me, and DC is south. Last night, I started coming down with something. Something like a cold. Haven't had one in a long time. I took a Covid test and it was negative, so that's a relief. Not sure how long after you get the symptoms you are supposed to wait to get an accurate test. Not sure where I picked it up from because I'm very careful.

That's why they usually include two tests and often specify you should take them about three days apart.

One study from researchers at Johns Hopkins suggested that COVID-19 PCR tests conducted 3 to 5 days after a person is exposed that return a negative result shouldn't be relied on alone to gauge infection status, and that in addition, the clinical and epidemiologic situation should be carefully evaluated by health professionals. The study also found that the false-negative rate is at a low point about 8 days after exposure.

If you still have symptoms after 3-5 days, repeat the test. I've also heard swabbing the back of the throat first, then the nostrils, might pick up virus if it happens to be in your throat but not sinuses. If you're still negative but are still symptomatic, get tested by your MD or urgent care using PCR test which is more accurate than a rapid test, or to see if you have something else, like common flu or strep.

But Ted Cruz or Josh Hawley might be up for the role. "The Anointed One," Cruz, would know what to do with the Christian nationalists who're comparing their convoy into DC with the Battle of Jericho that took down that city.
