It wasn't before the conflict erupted (which I will remind, we never said we would be able to either prevent, or stop once started) - and it isn't now. Others are free to have their own opinion, and draw their own lines.

I will caution however - remember that the U.S. (in toto) has an extremely short attention span - when it comes to waging war (or just about anything else). And it's been a long, long time since this country has had to suffer any (collective) consequences of any sort of major conflict.
