just released a letter to Mitt Romney on clean energy. Seems The Navy is working hard to develop clean energy, over concern for their bases, due to rising coastal waters.

I ran across the posting while checking out the hurricane conditions at NAS Norfolk VA. (my grandson is stationed there).

I imagine Mitt would rather use that money to build more battleships. lol

I'm from Long Island, currently live in Westchester. Have lived through hurricanes a bunch of times since the 1970s.

That said: we have plenty of other evidence that climate change is real, and of COURSE it should be an issue during this election, and all the time!

While climate change is occuring this particular storm is proof of nothing but the existance of this particular storm.

You can't extrapolate from a data set of 1.

And there was also the tsunami in AK and HI caused by the expansion of the crust due to global warming. Too bad it didn't hit red states instead so we gain voters.

having this influence?

I'll also add that below a few feet, ground temps stay pretty stable, regardless of air temp. So any expansion you hypothesize wouldn't seem to have much effect at the level of continental plates.

By the time the planet's crust got to the point where it's temperature had increased even a small degree from global warming, the oceans would be boiling and all life dead.
