Some people are able to process multiple things at a time, and some enjoy an evening that isn't wall to wall news.
Just FYI.

The only thing truly missing from this debacle is Trump tweeting about it. Twitter needs to give him 24 hour unbans whenever celebrity stuff happens

Oscar's wanted nothing to do with that controversy.

(I did not watch or never watch the Oscar's)

but seeing the unedited version, I don't think the Academy would have allowed the f-bombing. So I'm thinking that if it was staged, it would have been just between Rock and Smith.

His language after the incident leads me to think it wasn't. He has also done the punk ass slapping method before on a reporter that kissed him, so that may just be how he does it.

Chris Rock didn't benefit. Will Smith didn't benefit. His wife didn't benefit. The Oscars didn't benefit. It was a shit-show. Is everything a conspiracy now? Jesus Christ.

on the lookout for BS. But in this case based on Chris Rocks complete surprise and unprepared response to the whole thing, no. I don't believe it was planned at all.
Everyone in Hollywood should know the gig. There are going to be jokes at your expense. I felt bad for Chris Rock, he was as shocked as everyone else and handled it pretty well considering. I do consider the joke to have been in poor taste though. I wouldn't have said that knowing the situation. And yes, if you are going to make off color jokes, you need to know what you are dealing with first.
