HISTORICAL
(in 19th-century Italian politics) a policy of advocating the return to Italy of all Italian-speaking districts subject to other countries.
I had never encountered that term before, and went straight to the dictionary to find its meaning. Now I have a new word to drop at cocktail parties (if I ever get the opportunity to attend a cocktail party ever again).
