(14,381 posts)I mean, Barr is useless to Trump now, the next AG will be someone like Eastman, there will no constraints, just unleased power. But we will be able to rest our heads on our pillows and dream how we weren't political, even though the DOJ is not prosecuting today for political reasons.

(3,472 posts)Obama liked him so Mitch didn't. Even if Mitch liked him he couldn't like him because Obama selected him.

(15,325 posts)That's quite a stretch considering the talk now that Garland's obviously protecting his own Federalist peeps.
That makes no sense.
A seat opens up on the SC & a supposed Federalist loyalist is within votes of grabbing that prized spot, but they say 'Nope! Obama likes him. We'll pass.!
C'mon.

(3,472 posts)It doesn't make any sense. When was the last time Mitch McConnell actually made any sense? Remember when President Obama was first elected Mitch McConnell's first statement was that his priority was to make sure Obama was a one-term president.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
