Obama and Dems 'Absolutely Crushing' Romney and GOP in Early Voting in Nevada
By: Sarah JonesOctober 26th, 2012

On MSNBC this morning, Nevada political reporter Jon Ralston said that President Obama and Democrats are “absolutely crushing” Mitt Romney and Republicans in early voting in the state. He’s right. Democrats lead Republicans on every metric: mail ballots returned, in-person early voting, and total ballots cast.

Not laughing at you Mira, just at the timing. I had minutes before edited an update from yesterday's Nevada EV numbers. Friday's story was great nonetheless.

but I have to ask it. Are the early votes and absentee ballots counted as they come in? I really thought we had to wait until Nov. 6th to count the votes, but reading this post it appears that the counting is done instantly.

Whether they come from GMU.EDU, Jon Ralston Reports or in PDF form, some are delayed more than others. But they're usually within a few hours of actual ballot results.

The numbers only show who, by party affiliation, has voted, in total.

But were these folks going to vote on election day anyway or were they new voters? I don't read a lot into early voting if it is done by voters that were going to vote anyway.

I don't know if he has any events planned in the state over the next week, but he might consider going to other states instead.

He had a pretend rally out in angry white suburban Henderson and there were so few attendees they had a 12 year-old (he works for free) try to make it look like there is some interest in him.
