As you can see, it clearly is a Trump branded golf course.

Vladimir Putin scored an amazing 8 goals today to lead his hockey team to a 13-9 victory. Highlights on Russian TV tonight show opponents playing horrible defense on Putin like their life depended on it (which it did).

(12,811 posts)... I remember watching a documentary on North Korea and the new golf course in Pyong Yang. Supposedly, Kim Jong-il played the very first round and shot a 38, or some nonsense like that.

(45,417 posts)When a guy actually made the hole-in-one, Trump accused him of cheating and refused to pay. The guy finally sued him and Trump paid a settlement into a charity. Thats how much respect he has for golf

(77,272 posts)If they showed the video, it would be of him being on the seniors tees, and that he hit a 5 iron from 125 yards, not 181. (Which is where his playing partners teed off.)
I can see the ace being real. Some mid level golfer gets lucky on a par 3 every day. Nearly 130,000 are made every year.
But, there's no way a 75 year guy, with that jerky swing, hit 5 iron into a breeze on a 181 yard hole.
So, he can't even celebrate an actual ace without lying about it.

(40,366 posts)No way hits a 5 iron 180 in conditions like he himself described.
ProfessorGAC
(77,272 posts)...if there was a hurricane at his back.
That's why no video.
Either he hit driver from 180, or a 5 iron from 125.
Either way, he's lying.

(77,272 posts)There are almost 130,000 holes in one every year in the US. About one every 3,500 rounds. (Full disclosure: based on that I should have 1.8 holes in one, by now, but I've got none. Very close, but no cigar.)
Some golfers get lucky, every single day.
So, I believe it happened.
What is an obvious lie is that he claims it was a 5 iron from 180 yards, into the wind.
He either hit driver & saying 5 iron seems more impressive, or he played the hole from the forward tees and used 5 iron from 125 yards.
But, there's an obvious lie in his version.

(424 posts)Look at the low excitement high fives, especially Els coming in at the end. Very little excitement. Els body language make it look likes it was staged. Could have been a chip in for a boggie using a five iron to run it in from off the fringe. I have seen more excitement from my group when someone gets and Eagle.
Edit - Just watched again with sound, it was staged. The dry narration, Els looking extremely uncomfortable to be seen as a part of the charade.
