(18,918 posts)To confirm. And yet I trust her as far as I can get her on the phone to talk.

(21,010 posts)Sinema* is a trainwreck, and never met a lobbyist with cash she did not like.
Unfortunately, she is one of my Senators, and as far as I am concerned, a complete WASTE OF EFFORT.
I contributed money to Sinema. I worked to elect Sinema. I voted for Sinema.
No more.
Arizona needs a reliable DEMOCRAT in that seat.

It is good to have Collins on board.

(56,848 posts)as disappointing as she has been, both she and Manchin have been helping Biden confirm federal judges at a MUCH faster pace than Trump.

(69,471 posts)Manchin said earlier this week that he'll vote to confirm.
I wouldn't put it past Sinema to extort something in return for her vote, if she gets the excuse, but if that happens so will Collins. Her promise means nothing.

Nothing will piss off Evangelical & non-Evangelical Protestants more than them being excluded from SCOTUS.
Are Republicans practicing the Republican Party's version of REPLACEMENT THEORY.
While GOPers suck up to Protestants, they want to maintain their purge from SCOTUS.
There are six Catholics, two Jewish and one Angelican/Catholic Justice. No full Protestants.
While the Angelican Church is considered a 'Protestant' religion, it is the closest to the Roman Catholic Church, with several sub-sects. Justice Gorsuch is Anglo-Catholic and his faith almost aligns with the Catholic Church, so he really isn't Protestant.
With Protestants comprising 42% of the United State's demographics, it's surprising that the last Protestant was purged out around 2005 and there hasn't been another one on the SCOTUS court since. Why is that?
Did Protestants acquiesce to the Catholic Church?

(52,519 posts)And, before she gave that vote she flagellated the Democrats for doubting Kavanaugh and assured us he wasn't going to be a problem on issues that were important to women. She was wrong all around.
I will never forgive her for being the voice of Donald Trump when she gave that speech before her vote.

(42,034 posts)I still welcome it.
Her vote may very well be her creating distance between herself and the behavior of Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley.
She did vote to convict Trump, so there is that. That of course doesn't diminish the fact that Susan Collins is incredibly annoying.

Glad to see Susan Collins get past her concerns.
Unfortunately, she also got past her concerns over Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett.
