During a recent interview, anti-abortion activist and Ohio GOP congressional candidate Janet Folger Porter warned her fans not to “get any more boosters” against COVID-19, and said that if they pray hard enough, God will extract the vaccine form their bodies.

“So here’s the deal,” Porter said. “If God can take poison out of a stew, he can take poison out of a body, and that’s what I’ve been praying. Yes, we gotta fight [Covid], but if you’ve already had this thing, don’t get anymore boosters. But I just want to say that we have a God who heals, who paid for our healing on the cross — paid for. … And so God can heal even from mistakes we’ve made. He can heal from cancer, he can heal the poison jab, the death jab — he can heal.”

Besides the obvious stupidity about the "poison jab", this is another meme that the Christian right uses.

How God heals those who pray for it. Uh....I wonder what His track record is there? How many terminally ill cancer patients prayed to God to heal them, and.....viola....they were cured! No doubt there are a few cases that doctors are astounded with a reversal of the cancer growth....like a miracle! But really, just what is God's batting average on that front?

Then extrapolate all the other situations die hard fundies find themselves in, hurricanes, floods, fires, gunfire, war, where they pray. But God for some reason is not picking out his own born again believers over the dirty heathens to save in those situations either. What gives?

I'm just so sick and tired of hearing this BS. I was brought up in a fundie house. Pray and pray for God to heal X person. If X person does not recover....its God's will, and some kind of greater good will come from what just seems like an answer of NO from God. He works in "mysterious ways" like that is supposed to cover it.
