Tom Cotton on Judge Jackson. what a prick

Comparing former Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson to Ketanji Brown Jackson, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) says: "The last Judge Jackson left the Supreme Court to go to Nuremberg and prosecute the case against the Nazis. This Judge Jackson might have gone there to defend them."

How these people can spew such libelous crap without any blowback is appalling to me. There is no both sides to this behavior. It's disgusting and it should have no place in civil society much less in the Senate chambers.

The Nazis would never have hired her. They hated black people.
Democrats are going to have to go on the offensive
Can any of you come up with suggestions for ads?
The ads must be short and sweet, interesting and humorous if possible
They should be aired on Fox because those viewers only get their info from sources that convey misinformation

Tom Cotton is a Nazi and if he had a time machine would choose to go back to 1939 so he could join the SS. Fuck him.

That under our system, those Nazi’s would be entitled to a vigorous defense!

Yeah, Judge Jackson is just a little too much of a woman and a little too dark for these assholes to support her.

representation.

Authoritarians don't believe in the concept of due process and prefer to act as judge jury and executioner themselves or through their proxies.

I guess we know which way Cotton leans.

very well asked her to be a defense attorney. And, she probably would have agreed to do it.

Because the trials could not begin until adequate defense attorneys for the accused had been provided.

But, Sen. Cotton would have no problem with giving those Naziis a kangaroo court. Amazing that he has a law degree from Harvard -- which should be immediately cancelled because of his stupidity.

... You know what? If she had done that, it would have been fine. In explaining why he participated in the Nuremberg Trials — a decision that prompted private criticism from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Harlan Fiske Stone, who considered the ex post facto exercise a “high-grade lynching party” — Judge Robert H. Jackson made it clear that if the Americans “want to shoot Germans as a matter of policy, let it be done as such, but don’t hide the deed behind a court.”

What did that mean in practice? It meant that if the United States was to host a trial, instead of a firing squad, those who were put in the dock would receive a solid defense. It meant that Judge Robert Jackson was confident enough that the evidence would be allowed to prevail that he opposed stacking the deck. It meant that the court was not supposed to say, “they’re Nazis, who cares?” ...
