2. I don't think it would make a difference other than the symbolism.

Judge Jackson would not participate in the few decisions left to render. They have heard all cases and are issuing their opinio. I think this ends in June. This fall is when it matters for the new cycle. This should give judge Jackson enough time to select her clerks, get setup, etc..

3. I think it's a bad idea as Breyer already participated in some oral hearings on the current cases.

So new justice can't step in and take over those cases anyways. But, it's not like his votes will change much when republican have the majority of 6 to 3.
